I'm reminded of the days when I used to take my littles to the park. Every Wednesday at 11am there was Story Time. It was put on by a small group of entertainers, former clowns Along with reading 2 kids books (with a ton of enthusiasm), they did silly tricks, made balloon animals, and sang songs. I must have gone to this for 4 years straight. Not every week, mind you. It was an outdoor event, so they would break for summer (because it's brutal in the desert) and during the winter months after Christmas. It was such a fun time and I feel a pang of sadness knowing that when things open back up again, we will probably not be able to return. With both my littles in school Wednesdays at 11 are just not possible. I'll always have my memories and the pictures I've collected over the years.
I will never forget the song they sang right before they started reading their first story.

It still plays in my mind whenever I begin to read a story to my kiddos. Story time is so valuable. Not just for children. We adults enjoy a good story too. And now that I am doing weekly readings from my own book on YouTube, I have to admit, I still sing the song in my head as I mentally prepare to go on camera.
