NaNoWriMo for the Writers NaNoReadMo for the Readers!

It's that time of year. November. Where most people (In the US) are dreaming of turkey dinner, the writers are frantically spewing out as many words as their fingers can type (or scribble for those brave souls). It's a hard month.

Check on your writer friends. We are not okay!

Seasoned authors take this challenge a little easier than those new to the daily grind of putting out the words. It's work, in every sense of the word. Sure, everyone can string words together and make a sentence, but to create a world and people it with characters you plan on torturing as they struggle toward a satisfying end goal, takes quite a bit of creative muscle. And maybe a teensy bit of insanity. Not to mention the will to sit there day after day as the empty page mocks you with that blinking cursor. If I knew Morse code I bet all those blinks would spell out something snarky.

And with that in mind, I am doing my part in the author community. All month long I'm hosting Writing Sprints at Three Furies Press. Their group on Facebook will be doing these sprint's daily. I am the late shift host on Wednesday and Saturday nights (After Spilling Ink, of course).

For those of you following me on social media, this is the reason I may seem a little quiet this month. I have a novel to finish and a deadline coming quick, so I will be doing all I can to power through the first draft.
