The longest running pop culture
event in Las Vegas, Amazing Comic Con in conjunction with media partner Collider returned
to the LV
Convention Center June 14th-16th. With and
impressive guest list including: Sean Astin (Lord of the
Rings), Rob
Liefeld (comic creator), Asher Angel and Jovan Armand
(Shazam ), Jason David Frank and Amy Jo
Johnson (Power Rangers), Jim Starlin,
Ron Lim, Joe Rubinstein,
and a final appearance of George Perez (the original writers/creators and artists of
The Infinity War Saga.), and more. There were plenty of pop culture icons on
hand to draw a huge crowd.
A personal favorite, for my family
at least, was voice actor, Charles Martinet, the
voice of Mario! He signed a print for my boy after sharing a few quotes that
brought a smile to my boy’s face. My son has been a Super Mario geek since the moment
he first laid eyes on the cartoon plumber. He’s got every game up to the
latest, which requires a Nintendo Switch, and we
don’t have one… yet. But, we’re off topic now, let’s get back to the show! There
were plenty of things to see and do for everyone who attended this event.
Collider, the official media partner
for the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con hosted numerous panels during the weekend:
Amazing Spotlight with Sean Astin, Star Wars Adventures conversation with
Daniel Logan & Matthew Wood, Morphin’ Time with Jason David Frank and Amy
Jo Johnson, Architects of Pop Culture with Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld, and the
special Farewell to a Legend George Perez. To take a peek at those videos, check the link

Along with all the celebrities,
panels, and of course, vendors, Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con brought probably my
favorite thing about Pop Culture Conventions, the cosplay!
Comic Conventions, or more to the point Pop Culture conventions, are family friendly events. The
Amazing lived up to its name. The
weekend was that and more, and the convention organizers have already booked
their next appearance at the Las Vegas Convention Center. I’m already planning
my cosplay for ALVCC 2020.
